The Final Week!

So, my penultimate Monday morning in Sydney dawned.. I wasn't working so a little lie-in was indulged in. Luke has finished work too so we took ourselves into the city once up and about and got on with sorting claiming our tax back (a little cash injection will certainly not go amiss any time soon - although i think it might take longer to see it than I'd like!) and I managed to find myself some new trainers - following what my other one's had done to my poor toenails on the trek in Thailand I'd had to sell them to Mitz and get myself some that actually fit! Despite attempts by the salesman to get me to buy a $250 pair of hiking boots I managed to resist (I wonder how!) and get myself a bargain. Although i may get wet feet. Ah well! BTW - the pic shown below is the Sunset over Darling Harbour, taken from the office window at Five D. Not a bad little view eh peeps!

I had to work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, the thought of the money was keeping me going back there and in fairness all the people at Five D were very friendly and lovely so it could've been worse. Anyway, the first few days of this week were quiet, on Tuesday - what would've been my Dad's 60th birthday can I just add - we just got a DVD in and chilled out. Luke and I have recently taken to getting Friends DVD's out and watching back to back episodes. How exciting are we but they're funny and it saves us money so who cares! I also spoke to my lovely Jules again on Tuesday night.. Fab to speak to you as always Jules.. I'd be lost without you!! Wednesday saw me arrive home from work to find a half pissed Luke having been out playing golf for the day and enjoying a few cheeky ones on the 19th hole. By all accounts the golf course sounded amazing, with a backdrop of the ocean and teeing off over the cliffs!! Nice! So, as Luke was a tad tipsy he insisted we venture out for dinner so we went for Chinese in Coogee then just caught up on some emails before home time.

Thursday the 10th.. yesterday infact - see told you I'd get up to date - was Luke's birthday.. he's now the grand old age of 27 (you've nearly caught me up boy!) I had to work in the morning - although was my last morning so I am now officially a lady of leisure again! Yay! But met up with Luke in the city after and we treated ourselves to Krispy Kreme's and hot chocolate at the cafe we'd been to on one of our first few days in sydney when we were job hunting. It's hard to believe it's nerly time to leave! I'm not sure I like it! After we'd made ourselves sick with the sugar overload, we headed home so Luke could receive lots of birthday phonecalls from home then got ourselves ready for the evening. We were meeting Tom, Graham and Charlotte for all you can eat pizza and a few drinks in Kings Cross. Pizza's were yum and afterwards we moved onto the World Bar - where thanks to it being Luke's bday we were given some discount drinks cards... $3 vodka's til midnight... oh dear! It was only meant to be an easy night as we've a big weekend planned for our last weekend in Sydney but obviously that didn't happen! The World bar were having an indie night called Loaded and there was lots of dancing and fun going on which we found ourselves caught up in all too easily. 4am rolled around somehow and it was finally time to go home - Luke came in very handy last night too, i employed the age old yep, he's my boyfriend trick - always handy when you can't be doing with odd drunk guys!! Although I'm amazed any of them bought to be fair. Anyway, there's got be perks of having a male best mate eh girls! As you can see from Luke's face in the pic here, he clearly adores having me as his mate too! Haha!

Anyway, it's now Friday night and I'm in an internet cafe when I should be at the pub so I'm off... there will be one final post coming from Sydney but it might happen just after I leave. I have to say though I don't think I'm doing to badly given a few weeks ago I was 2 months behind and now I'm pretty much there!! I do just have to say though... I've 3 days left here and it's scaring me stupid! I can't believe it's nearly over. I don't want to go!! xx
